Adolescence is when the child’s familiar world reorganises itself. New questions arrive — who am I, what is all this for, where do I belong. They often come with anxiety, mood swings, conflicts at home and the feeling that “no-one gets me”. The good news: teenagers are actually ready for an honest conversation — as long as it’s genuinely on equal footing.
At LOQOS the teenager is heard by a trustworthy adult who isn’t a parent or teacher. The work is confidential within the limits we agree upfront with the teen and the parents.
01Who this is for
Anxiety, panic, a constant “something’s off” feeling
Low mood, apathy, “I don’t want anything”
Conflict at home, feeling “no-one hears me”
Peer trouble, bullying
Self-esteem, body, identity questions
Teen asks for a psychologist themselves — the best possible start
A teenager doesn’t come to a psychologist “to be fixed”. They come to sit with someone who listens without deciding for them.
02How we work
The first session is getting to know each other and agreeing on the terms: confidentiality, frequency, what we share with parents and what we don’t.
Parent sessions happen separately every 4–6 weeks. We do not retell the content of therapy; we help parents understand the teen and recalibrate their role.

06Frequently asked
What if the teen doesn’t want to come?
We can start with a parent conversation. We discuss how to introduce it without pressure.
Will there be confidentiality from parents?
Yes, within the limits we agree on. We inform parents only about risks to life and health.
Online or in person?
We prefer in person, especially at first. Online is possible later.
Is medication needed?
Sometimes — a doctor decides. We work alongside and can loop in a psychiatrist.
